Our Work at the San Diego Museum of Art — Art Alive
A project that perfectly embodied this philosophy was our keynote floral installation for Art Alive, the annual fundraiser at the San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA).
Every year, this prestigious event invites designers to interpret artworks through flowers — but for the keynote installation, we wanted to create something truly memorable and meaningful.
The theme for the year was India — a celebration of its heritage, mythology, and spirituality. For us, this was an opportunity to bring a piece of India’s soul to an international audience through flower installation art.
At the heart of our design was Kamdhenu — the sacred, wish-fulfilling cow from Indian mythology, symbolising prosperity and divine blessings. Surrounding Kamdhenu, we styled traditional brass pots, urns, and vessels — elements deeply rooted in Indian culture and rituals.
But the most dramatic element was the cascading floral installation from the ceiling above. Thousands of pristine white flowers — a symbol of purity and peace — flowed down like a floral waterfall, creating a mesmerising canopy over the installation.
Guests at Art Alive didn’t just see the installation — they experienced it. Walking beneath the cascading blooms, surrounded by the golden glow of brass and the presence of Kamdhenu, the entire space felt sacred and serene.
This is what we mean when we say that floral installations can elevate an event — they create immersive environments charged with positivity and beauty.
